This Sundays sermon will be on Romans 7:7-13. In a nut shell it is saying that it was not until the law came or I found out about the law that I realized that I was a sinner. The law points us to our sin. I really like the way Paul writes here, he says that he would not have known what sin is except through the law. Paul also says that he did not know what coveting was until the law said “Do not covet” and suddenly he realized that he was coveting. If thinking about a pink elephant was a sin, then all of you reading this post would be sinning right now because you now have a picture of a pink elephant in your mind. I believe this text is telling us that the law is good, in that it points out our sin. Fortunately for us we are under grace because the result of sin is death but we all need to come to the understanding that we need grace and forgiveness. Until we realize our need, we will do nothing about our sin.
